Team
4 man sharing one passion: the Aurora Borealis. Years of experiences in hunting the Lights in the Arctic and years of studying the science of solar wind got translated into this Arcticans Aurora Forecast App.
Wietse Dijkstra
Like a compass always points to the North, so is the magnetic North attracting Wietse. In 2004 Wietse decided to follow his dream and took a flight to the most northern airport in Finnish Lapland to work as an activity guide in the wilderness of Lapland. In Lapland Wietse got infected by the Northern Lights virus which continues until today. Today, Wietse is a professional developer of arctic experiences and a proud team member of the Arcticans northern lights app.
Ruben Weytjens
Ruben can really enjoy the freedom and purity in the Arctic nature, far away from the hectic life in the materialistic world that threatens to weaken us. Ruben likes to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others in the hope of helping them experience the same kind of feeling in this way. Ruben is a professional arctic guide and weatherman in Belgium. www.rubenweytjens.be
Joost Baudoin
Joost is the man who won’t accept ‘impossible’ as an answer. Besides building the backend of this app, Joost is a passionate nature photographer and northern lights hunter.
Roderik Peeters
You could say that the wilderness is Roderik’s favorite place to be. Roderik also likes to make things with raw materials from nature. Like spoons and “kuksa’s” made from wood. After Roderik visited Finnish Lapland in 2016 for the first time, he fell in love with this beautiful area and the Northern Lights. His love for the Arctic is reflected in everything and his big dream is to own a house in the far north. Roderik has his own blog www.mrporo.nl
